The Standing Sankalpa

The same intention, carried into a fire every month, for as long as you keep it. You choose which of the fourteen fires is yours. Your name is spoken aloud in its Sankalpa, the declaration at the opening that says who the Yagya is for, and the recording comes to you.

$150, every four months. Three payments a year.

And one Yagya free with every payment. The first free one goes in on the day you sign up, and another arrives with each payment after that. So you receive a total of fifteen Yagyas throughout the calendar year: twelve of the fire you chose, and three more.

Why the same fire, month after month

A single Yagya speaks your intention once. This speaks it again, and again, on the same fire's own day, through a whole year and past it.

The tradition holds that an intention is a thing you keep rather than a thing you make. That is what a vow is, and it is why the fires come round on a cycle rather than being lit whenever somebody asks. The Sankalpa is the moment your name enters the Yagya. Standing means it enters every month.

Each one is performed on its own day in the month, by the same Brahmins, and filmed.

What arrives

Two days before the fire, a note telling you the day and the hour it is lit, so you can put your mind on it wherever you are.

The whole Yagya is filmed. Afterwards a private link brings you the recording of the Yagya your name was read in, usually within a day. The recording is yours to keep.

Names close 48 hours before each Yagya, so a name can be corrected or added at any point.

The three extra fires

One Yagya free with every payment. The first free one goes in on the day you sign up, and another arrives with each payment after that. Your name goes into the next fire on the schedule, whichever fire that happens to be, and those three cost nothing.

So you receive a total of fifteen Yagyas throughout the calendar year: twelve of the fire you chose, and three more. $450 for the year.

A single Yagya is $37.50, paid once. Your name is read in the next fire and the recording is yours.

Book a single Yagya instead

Pitru Paksha is being kept now. Once a year the rites are performed for the people of a family who have passed away, and this year the day is Saturday 10 October. It is a separate Yagya and it is booked on its own. See what is performed. Bookings close 5 October.
